21 days of what?

Did I ever share with y'all that my church has a thing every January called "Awakening"? Come to find out other churches do it as well but because this is my first year with this new church, I didn't know that.

So anyway, Awakening. 21 days of a "Soul Detox". I don't think you're supposed to really talk about it, it should be private. Is that right? But I am dang proud to be doing my first fast, especially for 21 days.

Y'all, people have brought in cakes and candy this week. I have resisted and kept on trucking with my fruits and veggies! I'm probably going to turn into a banana by the end of January. It could be worse I guess.

I'm not going to lie though, I am pretty hungry haha! Being Southern just doesn't help me. I love my butter and sweets. But the crazy thing about this, is that since I've started, I haven't craved all of the horrible food that I did before. It's like those cravings just stopped. I don't want sweets at all or anything with butter. I kind of like not being able to eat certain foods like milk, dairy, etc. The process is much easier. I'm only on day 4 but I'm already contemplating continuing after the 21 days are up. And by continue I mean no meats or sweets. Well okay, a sweet on occasion. Wouldn't that be vegetarian? ha!

I'm pretty excited to see how long I will last. It sure does make weighing in every Friday a lot more bearable LOL!

Have any of y'all done a spiritual fast before? A soul detox? Any advice/tips!?

Happy Thursday y'all!

Proud of you girl. And it's ok to share in order to speak about the spiritual renewal it's doing, look for encouragement. Keep it up. Amazing things are about to happen!
