The Orange & Blue!

Today I'm linking up with Mrs. Jones. Why? Because tomorrow it begins!

College football season that is. More specifically SEC Football Season!

The level of excitement that consumes me is probably unhealthy.
I am so ready for this season and new season not focused on Tebow! Wee!

RV city (FL vs GA game). 2009 When I was blonde obviously.

Kinsley at her first Gator game 2011 Where I got tons of dirty looks ha!

K's first Gator season 2011 (Remember her Daddy is a NOLE lol)
I guess all of my game day pics are on my Mac :( sads!

I'm so ready for kickoff tomorrow!

I leave you with some fun Gator attire that I plan on adding into this season:

Ok. I'll also leave you with the 10 Commandments of College Football:

1. Thou shalt wear team colors. But think twice before adorning yourself with body paint—you don’t want to be the Internet photo that goes viral.
2. Thou shalt know—and sing—your team’s fight song from beginning to end. Sure, you can “watermelon watermelon” your way through the alma mater, but not memorizing the fight song is a fan failure.
3. Thou shalt keep your language clean (unless, of course, the quarterback fumbles on fourth and goal).
4. Thou shalt support the coach. Even when his calls are questionable.
5. Thou shalt be respectful to visiting teams. Remember: Southern ladies and gentlemen never boo.
6. Thou shalt set up a tailgate no fewer than three hours before kickoff (six if it’s a night game). Table linens and matching huggers encouraged, but not required.
7. Thou shalt theme your tailgate food around the visiting rival. Bulldog Bites, anyone?
8. Thou shalt stay through the fourth quarter—rain or shine. That’s what ponchos are for, y’all.
9. Thou shalt respect the solemnity of Game Day by planning weddings, births, and other life events around the football schedule. (completely did this for the wedding AND having Kins haha!)
10. Thou shalt not covet other teams’ bowl games, national championships, or Heisman Trophy wins.
There's always next year y'all.

Happy Friday
and
 HAPPY COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON Y'ALL!

That Awkward Moment

It was one of those moments you hope you never realize, especially if whoever raised you is someone that you don't really want to be like.

I was standing in the kitchen making a bagel (at my grandparents house) & my grandmother is going on about clothes that M still has of Kinsley's.

You see. I've reminded M numerous times that I need these back. Not because she needs clothes but because I don't want to be nagged. But do you think he remembers or even listens? Probably not.

So I tell her I've told him. She goes on and on and on. And continues some more. I stand there and internally sigh, hoping that it will end soon. She finally walks away and I'm in the process of buttering my bagel when BAM!

"Oh shit I am just.like.that.woman."

The person who I've tried for 25 years not to be like. The woman who my sisters and I always say to my grandfather "How do you put up with her?" or "You have the patience of a saint." The same woman who still gripes to me about things I did in High School.

When I got to work this morning the first thing I did was apologize to the Mr. I was so stunned that "holy crap that's me" that I had to say sorry.

My heart breaks just thinking about all of the going on and on and on and on I did ahem do.
Never relenting not even thinking about how the other person must feel.
But as I stood there, just the bagel and I, I wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out. I wanted to take back every single argument I've ever had with the Mr where I just.didn't.drop something.

 but really?

So maybe, just maybe, it is me and not you.

Crap.

Are you just like your mother? What do you do that's just like her?

Happy non-nagging Thursday Y'all!

Let's match our socks

 oh haaay.

I think it's time for a good ol' fashioned bullet point post.

  • My lunch today tasted like it was mixed with dish soap. That's probably not a good thing right?
  • Let's be real for a moment and say that I hated seeing all of the "couples" and "marriages" posts yesterday. While I'm so happy for y'all I still wanted to bawl my eyes out.
  • Sometimes I feel like I can't say enough prayers in this world to get past certain things in life.
  • After I typed that I had ADD & went to Pinterest. First pin I see?
We played God, well played.
  • I'm beyond excited for Saturday and the start of SEC football.
  • I read on Pinterest about 101 things to do with your boyfriend/husband instead of watching tv. One of the things suggested was "matching socks together". I'm pretty sure L would break up with me if I said "No way! I'd much rather match our socks together! how fun!" LOL wth?
  • Can we discuss the fact that in 14 seasons I've never missed an episode of Big Brother until this year? I've got like 20 episodes to catch up. I feel so defeated!

Sorry for the lack of substance. Why is it when I have to write a paper or an article I can type that out with lightning speed. But when I have to or need to write about my life I just can't find the right words?

In other news I have a 3 miler tonight. Allegedly.

Happy Tuesday Y;all!

Improve or Prove?

Did you know that there is actually, in fact, a good side to conflict?

I'm foreign. AND Southern. So my answer would have been no a few days ago.
That is, until I read Lysa TerKeursts post on Proverbs 31 Ministries yesterday.

For weeks. Ok my whole life, but really these past couple of weeks have been really hard in the communication area with pretty much anyone.

Lysa said it best when she said:

Boy do I ever have firecrackers in my veins. Sometimes it's a bigger show than at a 4th of July festival.

But I often don't look for the good in any conflict. Because well my blood is boiling and I'm too busy proving why I'm right. Even if I caused it, which let's just say there's a...higher than you chance.

While reading the devotion I literally said "Bam!" out loud. I sometimes think a certain someone picks and chooses my daily devotions to later say "See? I told you so." Ahem. Sir.

Back to the "Bam!". The words slapped me in the face as I continued to read. I'm sad to admit that I most likely don't fight fair. I fought to hurt. I chose my words to hurt. I had a wall around my heart and feelings and never, ever wanted to show an ounce of vulnerability.

After reading this devotion though I see clearly now the importance of fighting fair. Or really, not having "growth opportunities" at all. I remind myself how important the "relationship" is rather than making the "proving I'm right" the important part.

Do you try to IMPROVE your relationships or do you try to PROVE you're right?

Happy Monday Y'all!

Quick to Share, Slow to Think

"Just ate a bowl of the most amazing oatmeal...like...ever."

"Going on vacation! Can't wait!"

" [insert your childs name here] just started school. Sadz"

We've seen/heard it all when it comes to status updates and picture sharing. Quick to share, slow to think.

You want to share exciting news. I get it. You want to share with other moms that you're sad your kid went to school for the first time. Completely get it.

But what I don't get? When moms post on the internet WHERE your child is attending school. WHERE they are playing. WHERE they are ALONE without you.

Stop being stupid parents. Stop and think before you share.

I've seen so many pictures this week with tags of their children's school NAME along with the location on them. Can you be any more stupid?

Also? Another fun fact? & I'll be honest. I'm completely guilty of this part. Posting pictures even without names/locations doesn't matter. It can still be found through meta and geo tags. If some creep wanted to know they will get it.

It's great to share your exciting news, latest outfit/purchase or favorite whatever. But stop and think of the safety of your baby/ies before you hit submit. Get out of thinking you have a safe little bubble on your side of the internet because you don't!

Smarten Up.

Let me keep it real y'all though. I'm in the South. Come mess with my baby and I will get Here Comes Honey Boo Boo on you.

Happy Tuesday Y'all!

Good Laughs, Good Times

I don't know what it is about just hanging with your girlfriends that makes you feel together and normal.

You get to hang up the mom cape for a few hours and get to be the friend. You get a break from changing diapers and chasing naked babies around and get to laugh & talk about nonsense. Not that I don't laugh with Kinsley. Because I do. but I'm pretty sure it's frowned upon sharing a glass of wine with a toddler.

So I've heard.

Last week I was finally able to hang out with my favorite "food bitch" and catch up on things! We went to happy hour at a place here in Riverside called Pele's Woodfire Grille. (post is from Devon's blog. Better pictures and better descriptions that what I could come up with). A few hours after chatting and laughing with this woman I felt like my old self and a brand new person all in one by the time I left. Ah-Mazing.

Then this past weekend on Saturday, I took the drive up to Savannah, GA to meet Sarah and Leslie!

We went to a Tapas (not topless) Bar called "Jazz'd".
I didn't know what to expect when it came to the food. Although I'll be honest as soon as Sarah told me where we were going I looked at the menu online and have been drooling over the Proscuitto wrapped scallops ever since!.
Along with the cheese plate. You can never, ever go wrong with a bread and cheese plate.

See that cheese with the purple stuff in it? Don't eat it. Straight up feet. With cranberries for a kick of flavor. So gross.

I loved every minute of the Savannah meet up and I'm so glad that I meet these sweet ladies! Can I also add that (poor Sarah haha) Sarah is ADORABLE in real life people?! I mean. I just want to take her everywhere because she's just so stinking cute! haha One of the most nicest people I've ever met though. Definitely one of the most genuine bloggers as well! And Leslie? Love. Just love. So sweet & hilarious. She's running her first half in Savannah in November y'all!! Eep!

I felt like I knew these girls for forever. Although we do have one major difference. Ahem. But we do not speak of the Georgia Bulldogs on this little space of the interwebz. :-D

& because I like to keep things real here on RinP.

I look about 9 months pregnant because of this dress! Come on. It's the dress people. It has nothing to do with the fact that I love bread, sweets and that I barely run anymore. It's the dress. Oh & I am channeling my inner hunchback of Notre Dame. What what!

Moving on.

Loved meeting these ladies and loved catching up with old friends! Now if I could do this every week I think this mama might be able to keep her shit together! :)

What'd y'all do this weekend?!

Happy Monday Y'all!

Monograms for the Littles

I think I should start a new series involving monograms! Seems to be a weekly theme around here.

This week I want to share my favorite shops that I get Kinsley's monogramming loves made. It should be no shocker that she is monogrammed from head to toe as well.

I mean LOOK at these bows!

Are you broke yet? Because I know I am!

There's nothing better than a monogrammed baby/toddler!

Where do you buy your toddler monograms?

The Right Pair of Shoes

It's no secret that I have a deep love for shoes. I mean my first blog was named "For The Love of Stilettos". You can ask the Sir about my love for shoes as well since he filled 4 boxes and two suitcases with them when I moved.
I mean it's bad. But lately? I've reached deep within myself to try and pull of some funky, fun and non conservative type of shoes. I have bought probably 15 pairs within the last 3 months. Which is good for me & you but bad for the beau. ha!

Here are a few recent purchases and some new loves of mine!:

oh these. oh.
The black pair just came in the mail on Saturday! These are the most comfortable flops that I own now! and super cute!
I have a pair like this on my Poshmark site for sale!

Drooling now?
I may be stepping out of my comfort zone a little but apparently I'm sticking to black ha!
I am having so much fun opening these gems and pairing them with outfits though.

What is your favorite place to buy shoes?
