Oh! How Pinteresting & So What Wednesday!

Let's just jump right on in shall we?

 Matt never got this concept. Perhaps my next husband will.

 I believe I need this in my kitchen.

True that! Even though it is cute when an adorable little toddler follows you and knocks so lightly on the door and says "maaaama?" haha!

Knees to chest, KNEES TO CHEST!!

I've got places to go yo! PLACES TO GO!

LOVE this outfit! Where can I find this shirt?

A lesson on sharing.

YES please!

and while we're at it. Let's skip to "So What Wednesday!".

  • So what if I'm pathetically ready for the Mr to get home from his business trip.
  • If I am 100% sure I will be attacking him at the airport.
  • If I haven't done anything else to the house because it's been raining and flooding here non-stop for the past 4 days.
  • I started WW again on Monday and completely forgot I started and had Chic-Fil-A for lunch.
  • I'm already planning Kinsley's 2nd birthday party.
  • If I've been home for the past 3 weeks and don't really want to go to my house yet ha!
What are you Pinning and saying "So What" to this week?!

Kitchen Reno Update & Tantrum Help

Well folks this weekend I was able to crank out a new bathroom AND finish the kitchen. Now I only have to add the curtain and mop the floor.

Here is the last picture that I have of the Kitchen:

Since that picture I have put the contact paper to line the shelves on and the curtain is being made as we speak!

I'm so excited to see how everything comes together. Since you know...we've been working non-stop on this house for the past three weeks.

Here is a glimpse of the bathroom in it's 50's state:
You can go throw up now.

We just replaced the toilet (pictured) and the sink is brand new however we bought a new sink with a vanity/cabinet so there would be more storage space.

This is by far going to be one of my favorite accomplishments of the whole house! I can't wait to show you how it turns out.

Moving on, I do have a questions for moms. Kinsley is in the stage of screaming "NO!" and swinging her arms. While it's funny most of the time and I try to hide my giggles, how do I stop this? Just let her outgrow it? I don't want her having this attitude when she gets to school in January.

I'm almost 100% positive her teachers won't find it as hilarious as I do. lol

Things I'm Lusting After

Summer is here and so is my brokedom. Which means online window shopping!

I've compiled a list of lust! I need these items in my possession stat. I know, I know this goes against my old blog post completely but sometimes the interwebz just suck you right in.

I've never seen anything like this before. Isn't it gorg? I must add this.

Ever since I found Bridier Baubles and fell in love I've been eyeing these pieces and have been hoping that a white bib necklace came in. It has but I keep missing it and it sells out, this site has one though!

Speaking of Bridier Baubles. This needs a home in my collection. The color? SO pretty!

It's no secret that I love all things nautical and preppy so these would go perfectly along with my TB cardi! The great thing about these earrings is that they come in different color options.

The earring options just keep getting better and better!

Bee? LOVE. Also comes in different color options.

I can't tell you how much I love these earrings!
I'm not usually a huge fan of the bangles and bracelets on myself because I feel like they get in the way, but I adore this one! I think I'd have to suck it up and wear it.

So how badly do you want to go shopping now? What are you lusting after?!

So What....

So what if...

  • I heard a little, tiny, barely there cry from K early this morning and said to myself she needs a snuggle just because I won't see her tonight.
  • If I probably only heard that cry in my head just so I had a good excuse to go wake her up and put her next to me.
  • Laugh every time she does something that if other kids did it I'd be annoyed.
  • Almost every room in the house is some sort of grey color.
  • If I had an oreo brownie for breakfast....and hated every bite.
  • If I have a post coming up on every single accessory that you need this season...and I want it all. But can't buy it right now.
  • That I revealed Mr. A finally...but still want to keep his identity a secret because it's been like that for so long.
  • I've liked staying at home while finishing the house these past two weeks because that means I don't have to cook or clean. And I always have everything I need because that's just how awesome gparents are.
  • I don't want to leave home now because I'm a spoiled brat. haha!
  • The only reason I want the Mr to go on his business trip next week is because I know I get to watch what I want on Tv and it won't involve every episode of every season of Scrubs. (even though I do love that show haha a girl can only take so much!)
  • I'm already counting down the days until he comes back!
  • If I say I'm not running until the fall because it's so.freaking.hot.here.in.Florida when really we all know I'm lazy.
  • I question why I'm crazy when it comes to half marathons and still do them anyway. lol
Now what you've all been waiting for! The Mr!

My So Called life as a Proverbs 31 Wife

Killing two birds with one stone this afternoon. I wanted to share my review on the most recent book I've been reading. It also happens to be Day 18 on The Blog Dare and the prompt was "The Best Book I've Read Recently". A ha! Done and done.

Yes, I know I'm not a wife. But it is always good to brush up on your reading and learning. What better thing to learn than becoming a Proverbs 31 wife? You know...in the future.

Sara writes about how intimidating it is to live up to the "standards" of a Proverbs 31 wife. She tells it in a funny way of course because let's be honest, I probably wouldn't have picked it up if I didn't see "so humorous!" on the back.

Before I go on about how hilarious and informative this book was I want to share with you what Proverbs 31 says just in case you don't know.

10 [b]A wife of noble character who can find?
    She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
    she provides food for her family
    and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
    out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
    her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
    and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Now that you've read that. See how intimidating it is? I mean..."She gets up while it's still night"? This mama loves her sleep. So no. I'm sorry. I won't be sitting up while it's night. Except for maybe shopping on Poshmark.

What about "16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard."? That's going to need to be one big field especially for a vineyard. I mean let's be real. That vineyard is for the wine. Because she's got a lot to live up to.

Last example  "27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness." Ahem. Like a hawk. Mama knows everything. I may not eat bread of idleness (unless Real Housewives is on then I'm completely idle) but I dang sure eat copious amounts of bread.

I guess becoming a Proverbs 31 wife is completely realistic and something we should work towards. Just in a more modern way. I'm pretty my kids wouldn't like me to make their clothes from scarlet and send them on their way.  I guess it could be worse. They could be wearing polyester.

My point for this post was to tell you that Sara Horn had it all right! This book was so funny and so true. She makes you see this verse in a completely different light than what you read in the bible.

Sara also makes you feel like you are completely normal. You know? When you just want to throw things at your husband but instead smile and nod? Or when you want to lock yourself in the bathroom and pretend you're taking a 3 hour shower?  Oh those were the days.

Have you read this book? What did you think? How do you feel about the Proverbs 31 goal?

Kitchen Reno

 I'm so disappointed no one wants to buy my crap! What the heck?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh my word y'all. This house is seriously kicking my ass.

I have blisters on my hands from using the paint roller every day. I have paint permanently in my hair. It's taken me 6 days so far just to do the kitchen and it still needs new counter tops and hardware. (& a curtain).

At least I'll be fully prepared for The Color Run at the end of the year?

Let me just show you what I've been working with for the past week.

Feel my pain now?

I am so excited to show y'all the end result though! It is a complete 180! So gorgeous now!

Here's my inspiration and what the kitchen will look like this weekend once I get the final touches done:

That's the basic idea of what I'm going for.

Hopefully this weekend the majority of things will be done and I can finally not sleep on
my gparents floor. True Story.

What are your plans for the weekend? Any home projects going on? Please Share!

Blog Sale!

Well I'm all moved in and everything is painted! After I finish the hallway and play area I never want to see a paint roller again. Ever.
It has monsooned here for the past week and that made for an extremely muggy move and one unhappy Sonja. I'm sure I was a gem to be around. lol Moving is not my forte.
The one good thing about this weekend is that I stayed at my family's house because the paint needed to dry. Which means home cooked meals and no cleaning. Oh and laundry. haha!

Edit: It's now Tuesday. I can't wait to show y'all the updated kitchen tomorrow! It's amazing what a coat or few of paint can do to a room! Especially an awful shade of mustard yellow. Ew.

I have a few Pinterest projects coming up that I'll be sharing. Just trying to organize the pictures right now. I can't believe I have actually finished projects from Pinterest! In BULK!
