Vino Escapades

Something that Duval county has wrong when it comes to divorces is that you have to take a "Child First" class in order to actually get the divorce. (if you have children obviously). This Saturday morning was spent sitting in the class for 4 hours. It was worse than a Drivers Class for speeding. So so bad. When you have a 10 month old it's kind of hard to pay attention to a class that was predominantly elementary and middle school aged kids involved.
Things I did learn though:
  • Jacksonville is the #1 murder capital in America.
  • It's the #1 domestic violence area of America.
  • Jacksonville has a 60% rate of divorce. Which is also one of the highest areas. They blame the military for that as well since we are a Navy town. See? Doomed to begin with.

So basically the class was a waste of four hours that I could have been tasting more wine instead.

Which brings me to Saturday afternoon.

Wine testing & touring at the San Sebastian Winery with Mr. Anon.
Except they failed to announce that there were no tours on Saturdays.
So we walked around& tasted wine here & there randomly ourselves.
I have to say that along with the no notice of no tours on a Saturday, the wine was disgusting,
I guess I've been spoiled with German wine and cheap French dessert wines for so long that local wine is horrible. Also? The pictures on the site? Nothing like what you see when you get there. There are no vineyards only downtown St. Augustine and industrial buildings. It's next door to a police station and across the street from a section of Flagler College.

Very disappointing.
So once I got home I loaded up a plate of my own cheese
poured some of my FAVORITE wine
Added some chocolates
and had a happy Sonja!
So yummy! Much better than the winery afternoon.

What did you do this weekend? Any vino escapades?
Happy Monday Y'all!

That completely explains mine now! Married in Jax, but ended it in my home state. The odds were against me. Oh well!

That is funny about the winery! Only there could you find that!

I have those same jammies! I just ordered them before Christmas but I have yet to try them out!

ugh I hate when vineyards suck. We have one back home that isn't the best but it's still fun/tasty. Mostly sweet fruity wines which really aren't my speed BUT I'm never going to gripe when you can watch live music at events there.

Looks like a great cheese tray though! YUM!

P.S. I love St. Augustine.

Wow. Sounds like quite a day. But it looks like your own personal cheese plate more than made up for it when you got home!

I've always wanted to do a wine tasting at a vineyard - guess I better call ahead, huh? ;)

The class sucked 10 years ago. I can only imagine how horrible it is now. At least you had a smart phone to entertain you. Me? Nothing. Nada. Zero. Just the bitter middle age man complaining about the cow who left him.

OK I need those chocolates!!! Sorry to hear your wine tasting wasn't great at all. But I'm sure you made it a great time. And if your house has that wine and those cheese all the time, I'm driving up!!!
