Just a little Mojo

And not the kind that I really, REALLY need to get to running this week. Hellooo humid and hot weather.

Last night I didn't feel like cooking so we headed to Salt Life Food Shack again because they had amazing sushi last time.  When we got there though the line was out the door and there was a LONG wait.

So off to Mojos we went! I had every intention of getting a salad. EVERY INTENTION PEOPLE.  But you know those days where you just to eat horrible & pick up the next day? Yeah I was having one of those nights.

What was calling my name you ask? The Buttermilk Fried Chicken of course.
Doesn't that look so delicious and heavenly? I don't know how these people can call themselves Southern and BBQ joint because THAT was a disgrace to the gravy gods. But still yummy none the less.

Today? I've done much better. and I might even throw a little Jillian in there tonight while the hubs is putting the trim back on the door, you know, to add some more torture in my life.
I'll also be doing Round 2 of this couponing thing. I think on my old blog I shared with y'all that I spent $165 on groceries last month & SAVED $110! So this time I'm going for even BIGGER!

Thanks to everyone who answered yesterdays question!  It was interesting to see every ones answer and if I upset anyone or offended you that was not my intention at all! I was just curious. But I did receive helpful info from a few lovely ladies! Fonz & I have been looking for a new system and have wanted to try the envelope system for a while now but because I'm scared of change I wasn't ready. holy run on sentence. Last month though? Something HAD to happen, so this month? We are starting a whole new process of doing things.

I'm still the CFO though ;)

Today's Question:

Do you coupon? Are you extreme?

I love how this was supposed to be a running blog of some sort but I've yet to post anything running related! bah!

Pinning & Borrowing

First & most importantly,
THE FRONT DOOR IS IN!! finally!

Here is a before and after shot:
Minus the trim. That will be done tomorrow night. I am so excited that it's finally done and we can go about our business! No more big projects for a few weeks though. Which will be fencing and then my kitchen. Halleljah!

Now onto "Oh! How Pinteresting!"

If you watched the RHONJ this past Sunday you saw that Jaqueline made a Nutella pocket. Uhm? Hello? Nutella AND a bread product? I am sold.
If you followed my old blog, then you know that every Christmas for my CWs I always do something homemade. It's fun and budget friendly. I love getting new ideas for this!
Ok? REALLY MOMS? how brilliant is this!? I know K obviously can't paint yet but when the time comes, this is such a great idea!

Link up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple to join in!

Earlier in the week I was talking to someone and she said she would have to borrow money from her husband. It was over the phone so she couldn't see my mouth drop open but I was wondering how everyone else feels about this? Borrowing money from your hubs. I don't think theres a right or wrong way about this, but in our household everything is ours. I don't ask and he doesn't ask.Unless it has to deal with BIG purchases then obviously we discuss and are on the same page. Or try to get there at least. Basically I'm the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of the house haha but to me when she said that, it flabbergasted me. I didn't know people really did that-it was the first I've ever heard of it.

Question of the day:
How do you feel about borrowing money from your spouse? Is it 50/50?

I realize this could be a sensitive subject to some but in no means am I judging! I'm just curious! You do whatever works for YOU :)

It's only Tuesday?

So this weekend was jam packed with cleaning and yard work.
Luckily, my MIL was over and orgnanized my entire kitchen and made me put all of the laundry away and set up the dining room. It actually looks like we live in a house now! ha!

Along with cleaning ALL weekend? Comes baby wearing :)
See a pattern? She loves the baby wearage. Really, baby wearing should be an olympic sport. I think I lost 20lbs just by carrying her. Oh wait. that was after I put her down.

Anywahoo,
Saturday was K's first time going to The Little Gym, and while it was extremely intimidating at first, because you know? The judgy moms? The comparing?, it was actually fun! We have another class later this month.
I was worried because she was the smallest baby and the youngest but she seemed to get on just fine! "Chatting" away and doing everything we were made to make them do. (ie: hand clapping and bell shaking". She loved it! There was even a somersault involved. *le sigh

AND I have good to me news! the front door finally came in yesterday! 6 LONG hours later (if you follow on zee twitter I do apologize) and the door still isn't in. So they will be working on it again tonight. Hopegully everything will be resolved and we will go to bed way before midnight. I am running on fumes y'all.
Here is the original door. Hideous right? bleck!
BUT here is a picture of the foyer before the new door is in:
I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing with this. It's all so intimidating! & yes, that is parquet flooring that you see. Yes, I do hate them.

On another note, we are planning our 3 year Anniversary (next month) and our top pick is Hilton Head, South Carolina!

Does anyone have any recs for places to stay? Things to do? Places to eat?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Question of the day:

If you could go anywhere in the States, at no cost to you, where would you go and why? What would you want to do!?

Happy Tuesday!

Some new things!

See that Facebook Plug In down there? Under Blog Archives? Please click the "like" button and add Running In Pearls to your favorite pages! (that is, if I'm a favorite of yours)

Also? See that RoadID link? I'll have a better post about it tomorrow but if you need a RoadId, click on that link and order one! It's a must have for safety when your outdoors running or working out!

In other news, the front door wont be coming in until MONDAY afternoon due to a paint mishap. #1 HOW does one paint a door WRONG? and #2. well I have no number 2 but I do have a sadz.

Anywhoodles, Happy Thursday!

Running will not be taking place tonight since it's monsooning here however, selling my soul to Jillian will be.

Breaking the Ice!

Since I have quite a few new followers now I thought it would be fun to link up with Jenn in her "Breaking the Ice" series.

1) Tell one thing not many people know about you.
You know, I planned on doing something along the lines of "you may not know but", & I had TONS of things to say but never wrote them down. So now? Of course I can't think of anything.
Hmm. Not a lot of people know that I was this.close to leaving for the Air Force right out of highschool, then my mom passed away.

2) If you HAD to change your first name, what would you change it to?
When I was younger I really wanted my name to be Morgan or Tiffany. haha! I HATED my name! No one could spell it or prounounce it right. Still the story of my life but I've grown to love my name.
3) What are your 3 favorite songs of the moment?
Heartless-Dia Framptons (from the Voice) version
Party Rock Anthem-LMAFO because who doesnt love them
Let Alone You-Eastin Corbin

4) List 3 goals on your life's to-do list:
-Complete a 1/2 Marathon
-Find something that I truly truly love to do (jayohbee wise)
-Complete a tri!

5) What is one of your favorite quotes?
"We must alter our lives in order to alter our hearts, for it is
impossible to live one way and pray another."-- William Law.

& because everyone loves a funny one:

"I used to think that diamonds were a girls best friend, but now I realize its carbohydrates. Seriously, I have a French baguette at home sporting a matching friendship bracelet."

10 pts to whoever can guess what lame-o book that came from!
6) Fill in the blank:  If I had an extra 10 dollars to spend . . I would buy __________?

Moving announcement! because I'm still slacking on those.
7) What’s your birth date?
January 29th! Mark your calendars
8) Do you have a hidden talent and if so what is it?
I can finish off a can of buttercream frosting.
Thats not a talent? oh.
9) What do you think of when you hear the word "blue"?
I just finished the book "Something Blue". lol
10) Finish this thought:  I need . . .
to take some Tylenol! I have a killer headache from all of the smoke here in Jax!

Four Months

I haven't really, REALLY given you updates on Kins. Just a little tidbit here and there or her cute baby styles.

So now is a good of time as any.

My sweet, precious baby girl. You are 4 months old as of yesterday. You have taken a keen liking to my iPhone, as you should. Eating it is your favorite thing to do.
Mickey Mouse Club House has become a staple in our household on Saturday mornings, then switching over to Looney Tunes. Because you know, I like to keep it classic. No weird dancing men or Handy dandy notebooks on our tvs. (btw I've always said my kids will NOT watch copious amounts of tv. however, lately? its about the only way I can get stuff done)
You will sit there and laaaaugh and laugh. I love it.

Solid foods have been a staple since 3 months old. I just knew you were ready. I felt you were ready. Moms just know. You've loved everything we've given you and we haven't had any problems with anything so far *knock on wood*.

Sleeping? oh.my.gosh.sleeping. Seriously kid? You started sleeping through the night around 2 1/2 months and by sleeping through the night I mean you go to sleep right after you last feeding, after your bath. after we douse you in bedtime lotion, at 8-8:30p and don't wake up until 6:45-7:15a the next morning. Where you lay in your crib and just talk away to your giraffe and kick your feet until I come in to get you for your breakfast. I always hoped & prayed that I'd have such luck, and boy were we blessed!
I know. The moms out there who didn't have or don't have this luxury want to slap me. Go ahead, I understand. Just know that our next one will not be so easy. I just know it.

This Saturday morning we have an appointment at The Little Gym for your first "Bugs" class! I am so excited but confused as to how we get 4 month olds to do stuff. But alas, I hope to meet other moms in the process.

I can't wait to see what month 5 brings. I'm convinced you'll be saying mama soon. Because you my little angel are already an overachiever.

Does anyone else find it weird when we, moms, write this as if our babies are reading?

No? Just me? Hmm.

Happy Tuesday y'all!

Stylin' & Profilin'

Alright! Now that everything seems to be going smoothly with the transition and my domain/new url is up & working correctly now; it's time to get back to blogging!

This weekend was spent sunning myself, watching Kins play in her pool, having an inpromtu cookout, and celebrating Fonzs first Fathers Day!!

Here's a little picture re-cap.

Fonz spent the morning of Fathers Day in the woods with his dad. Once he came home we got ready to go to SaltLife Food Shack for lunch with the entire family.
because nothing's better than a picture of myself. (except one of K)
I ordered the "Beer Can Chicken"
I ate the majority of the chicken & maybe 5 fries. I can say that the chicken was not what I thought it would be and I wasn't too impressed with it. The first time we went to this resturaunt was a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant. I didn't like it then either.

I did have crunchy tuna rolls for an app & THEY were pretty amazing!
Fonz had a rib concoction that was gone is .3 seconds and a margarita with an umbrella. SO manly.

Kins had a side of nap with her bottle.

After dinner we headed to Brusters to gain more weight for a treat and went home to Fonzis new riding lawn mower! you know..so he can cut the grass in style.

On another note and completely far from weekend festivites: I finally downloaded/bought "Kara Goucher's Running For Women: From First Steps to Marathons" book on my kindle! I've been wanting to read it since before getting pregnant but never had time to do so. I'm excited to start it and see what it has to offer!

Tomorrow I'll have an updated Foyer post! We get our new front door on Thursday! wahoo!!

Hope y'all have a happy monday!xo
